Camtasia for Mac's Region Recording is Great!

I hadn't looked at the Camtasia offering on the Mac in several months, but I'm about to do a big project so I figured I'd see if they've added any features since I last reviewed their offering. What I saw meant immediate download. And seeing the implementation brought out the credit card pretty quickly. What convinced me to purchase it so quickly? Their new region recording functionality. It's exactly what I had hoped for when I originally reviewed the product last fall. When you start a recording you can now tell it what size region you want to record from on the screen. You can see exactly where you're recording from at all times so you don't accidentally leave the screencast area. Their presets are awsome as well. The one that caught my eye quickly was the YouTube HD preset. Exactly what I needed for this project. ScreenFlow's canvas is great, but you have to make those adjustments AFTER you do the screencast. I had to keep my area of interest in my mind at all times which can periodically be distracting, or worse, cause a re-recording. This may never have bothered me if I hadn't used Camtasia on Windows previously. I almost never did a screencast of the whole screen with it, I always used the region recording feature they now have on the Mac version. I still love ScreenFlow, though, so now I'm looking forward to seeing how they implement something like this. Or if they already have it and I've been too dim to figure it out, hopefully they'll make it far more obvious and list it as a feature.
