iPad wifi problems

Don't know about others yet, but I've been having chronic problems with my wifi connection getting dropped with this new iPad. If it continues to be this bad I'm going to have to look into a replacement, though. Even when I try to reconnect about 1/3 of the time it prompts me for my key again. There aren't any problems with the other two computers, laptop and printer I have set up so I don't think it's the wifi network device. Nice, dropped me just now... Anyhow, other than this I love it. Can't wait until a few of my favorite apps are updated to support it. :-)

  2. I'm having the same problem here. I didn't purchase the extended warranty for $99. I hope I'm not bricked.

  3. My house is networked and my iPhone always has strong connection. I'm finding I don't get as strong a connection. It differs from place to place and hour to hour. Hope this is addressed in a software update soon.

  4. Also having the same problem. Apple support has advised me to restore the software to its original settings. Trying that now.

  7. Had the same issue, tried everything from soft to hard reset. Found out the problem was my router. Updated firmware and all is well now.

  8. I've completely redone my entire wireless network at this point, not that there was anything wrong that I know of, but the changes were all for the better. Finally moved from using WEP to WPA, changed the router from using both B & G to just a G network, specified channel 11 rather than having it set to automatic, etc. Got the two iMacs, my MBP, the Time Capsule, our printer, the iPad, my iPhone and my wife's iPod Touch all onto the new settings. The iPad has fewer problems and slightly faster, but it still sucks. Distance affects it far more than any other wireless device I have and it's still forgetting the network key all the time (but much less than when I had the network using WEP). I've typed my wireless key more times since this Saturday than I have in the two years I've been connecting to my FiOS Actiontec router. I've connected countless other wireless devices to that router in the last couple years with no difficulties whatsoever. The firmware is up to date as well, checked that last night. This may be the first Apple device I look to return for a refund. In fact, I'm about 95% sure I'll be going back to the Mac Store I purchased it from and inquiring into their return policy (I buy from a local Mac store to give them the business rather than the official Apple stores). I'm pretty upset about this because I really do like the iPad. In fact, I'm depressed at the thought of giving it up because I like it so much. But every time that popup says the device has the wrong wireless password my blood boils!

  9. My iPad is connecting ok but the signal bars flux but connectivity seems ok. The only issue is my Airport reports the iPad connection at 39Mbps while all my other G devices report 54 and my N report 130 plus. This seems very slow and has been reported by others who know where to look in the Airport Utility.
